JazzHall Presents: JazzHall Latin Session #9: Ivonne González
In Latin jazz, the rhythmic diversity of Latin America and the freedom from jazz and improvisation merge into a stirring musical language. As a special guest, the trio – consisting of César Correa (piano), Eduar…

Manifesto
Real Latin music, played live.
In an industry where catchiness matters more than musicianship, "Latin" has been reduced to generic playlists, interchangeable DJs and soulless dance nights. Cuadra 7 exists to bring back the real thing: live musicians, brass, congas, clave, and a direct tribute to the masters who founded this music: Fania, Palmieri, Mongo Santamaría, Ray Barretto, Tito Puente.
The 7 is a block in the neighbourhood, the street where this music lives without permission or formula. Corner, open door, radio on. That is what Cuadra 7 puts on stage.

The playlist
Latin Jazz
The house selection. What we listen to when we’re not playing.
What you’ll hear
Post-bop Latin jazz, Cuban descarga, hard Fania salsa, boogaloo. Played by musicians, not a DJ with a playlist.
What you won’t hear
Nothing designed to hook you fast and be forgotten tomorrow.
Where
Hamburg. Venues chosen for how the room sounds, not how many it holds. Dancefloor open when the repertoire asks for it.
